Upcoming Program
Brent C Brown

Chesley Brown and its founder, Brent C. Brown pioneered the modern concept of security management services. Beginning as a consulting and auditing firm, not only did Mr. Brown establish the use of Law Enforcement professionals, but also academic, business, legal and financial professionals to give a far more expert and comprehensive advisory service to an industry once singularly focused on a retired cop/federal agent perspective. Ln 1997 Chesley Brown further pioneered the field of security management by providing managed security programs to clients whose previous two options had been either an "in-house" or a "poly- guard" solution (a term coined by Brown referring to polyester guards). Chesley Brown changed the course of an industry by providing an in-house and proprietary look and feel with the advantages of outsourcing.

Chesley Brown has client's in more than 28 states and 3 countries and provides countless private security programs as well as those using the prestigious Chesley Brown brand. Prior to Chesley Brown the term ''security management services" . and "client partner" were not used. Contracted security programs were also never operated on a comprehensive budget to the benefit of the client.

Previous Program
Robert Wilson, a storyteller and award winning author with a message for innovators

Why is this man standing on a chair? In the photo above Robert climbed into his chair to drive home the idea that we all need to change the way we view a situation. The idea is that a different perspective inspires more innovative solutions to our problems.

On Monday, February 25th, Robert Evans Wilson Jr. spoke to our club on the topic of embracing the innovator's lifestyle. He offered numerous ways to stimulate creative thinking on demand. While many feel they are not very creative, he claims that we can all be creative. He says "Creativity is no a gift. It's a skill. And it is critical skill that can be learned." With that idea floated out to us all to ponder, he began to give us several tools that we can effectively use to find better solutions to our problems.

He spoke about the "Un-Comfort Zone". We all know about our comfort zone and how we all tend to live in our comfort zone. He explains that stepping in our un-comfort zone is important to achieving our goals and dreams. More on the Un-Comfort Zone can be found here.

"What would happen if the opposite where true?" This question was posed to us by Robert as a special tool we can use to flip a problem or situation on its head and force a fresh perspective on a problematic challenge in your life.

These ideas and many other on improving ones ability to relate and solve problems were presented during his 20 minute lecture.

Rob Wilson is a professional speaker, a keynote speaker and humorist. And, he is a storyteller, a motivational speaker, an advertising speaker, an innovation speaker, a leadership speaker, a seminar speaker, a college speaker, a humorous speaker, and a lunch & learn speaker. Rob is also a writing and speaking coach. Plus, he is an advertising consultant, and an innovation consultant.

Robert can be found at: www.RobWilsonSpeaker.com or Robert@JumpStartYourMeeting.com

Fire House Dinners

On February 19th ,20th and 21st the SSRC along Ippolito's, Brooklyn Cafe, and Carl's Cafe provided dinners for our local fire and police members. Fire Station 2, located at 135 Johnson Ferry Road was our base of operation as the men and women came through from all over Sandy Springs in shifts during a four hour windows. It was truly a pleasure to give a little back and serve our members of public safety. Great food and great company.

The Rotary presented a certificate of appreciation to four separate groups of Firemen (representing 4 precincts) as they passed through for dinner.

To any Rotarians that have not participated in this event, you're really missing out on an excellent chance to shake hands and get to know some of people that take care of our community.

Caught the kids playing spoons while the Firemen enjoyed their dinner. The Interact students from Mount Vernon were also there.

Special Awards from Court
SSRC is presented awards from District Governor Court Dowis

Court Dowis dropped in the club with special awards and some encouraging words. Court spent time encouraging us to build a team for the big wheel challenge in Sandestin then went right into rewarding SSRC with a banner and certificate. The banner commemorates 100% member participation in foundation giving with an average of $100. The certificate was in appreciation for our clubs financial support to the End Polio Now campaign. Both awards were for the 2017-2018 year while Will MacArthur was president.

From Left to right. Will MacArthur (SSRC President for 2017-2018), Court Dowis (District Governor for 6900) and Fred Ferrand (Current SSRC President)
